The critics agree: White House Down will race UP the box office charts!
The Globe and Mail‘s Liam Lacey loved it, noting that “Gerard Butler (also a producer here) takes a welcome break from his increasingly painful romantic-comedy roles.”
Alonso Duralde of The Wrap agrees, adding that White House Down “ranks among the best movies that Butler has ever made.”
“It’s a movie made for fist pumps,” raves The Newark Star-Ledger‘s Stephen Whitty.
James Berardinelli of ReelViews took pleasure in the violence, explaining: “Director Antoine Fuqua once had an issue with studio interference when his hard-R King Arthur was neutered to get a PG-13.” But “there’s never any question that” White House Down ”is headed into R-rated territory.”
Film.com’s Jordan Hoffman puts it better than we ever could: “Olympus has fallen!” Indeed, Jordan. Indeed.
