More Toys, Less Art!

The numbers agree: Hollywood should be making more movies about toys and fewer movies about art!

That’s right: The LEGO Movie trounced The Monuments Men, raking in $69 million to Clooney’s $22 million. In a phone conversation with The Critics Agree on Sunday night, however, George Clooney claimed to also get 69 over the weekend. We have not been able to confirm this statement.

Vampire Academy was the only other new release in the top 10. It finished in 7th place with $4 million. America apparently only likes vampires when the word “Vampire” is not used in the title. Unless the film can rebound from this poor showing, a Vampire Academy LEGO set looks unlikely.
