300: Rise of an Empire

The critics agree: our movie boner was on the Rise after this one!

Scott Bowles of USA Today says 300: Rise of an Empire is “stunningly shot and … written.”

Chicago Reader’s Drew Hunt raves about “the rampant homophobia and chauvinism.”

Leigh Paatsch, the National Movie Reviewer for all of Australia, gushes: “There will be biceps.”

Gary Dowell of Dark Horizons enthuses, “It’s even more gratuitous, over-the-top, and fetishistic than Zack Snyder’s stylistic adaptation of Frank Miller’s graphic novel about the 300 Spartan warriors who held an invading Persian army of thousands at bay at the Battle of Thermopylae.” Cool!

The Fresno Bee‘s Rick Bentley praises the film’s “bold cinematic brushstrokes, fearless visual design and strong depiction of violence.”
