The numbers agree: Americans love America more than the Bible.
That’s the only lesson to draw from Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘s trouncing of last week’s winner, Noah. Cap made $96 million, while the ark dude raked in a measly $17 million. In fact, Noah was almost passed by Divergent, which finished in third with $13 million.
God’s Not Dead finished fourth with $7.7 million while The Grand Budapest Hotel made $6.3 million.
Once again, if it’s not clear, here’s the ranking of stuff Americans like:
- The Bible
- Women shooting arrows
- Kevin Sorbo
- Twee shit
The box office is an instructive place.
