The Hollywood Reporter‘s Boyd van Hoeij calls the film “rock-solid.”

Rip It Up’s Mad Dog Bradley gushes, “Now that’s Strangerland.

The Guardian‘s Brian Moylan raves, “I’m going to admit this straight out of the gate: I don’t think I understood Strangerland.”

The Sydney Morning Herald‘s Paul Byrnes notes, “Yes, I know grief does strange things to people, and sex can be a way of expressing that distress.”

The Herald Sun‘s Leigh Paatsch describes the movie as “a demanding psychological drama of some quality.”
