Pixels Begins Its Slow Build

BOR_PixelsCorrectionThe numbers agree: Pixels may have opened in second place, but it seems poised to gain momentum over the next few months!

The new Adam Sandler film impressed at the box office this weekend, grossing $24 million in only 723 theaters. Compared to Ant-Man‘s $24.7 million, which was earned in 3,868 theaters, Pixels made an astounding $33,195 per theater! These numbers should spur the producers to roll Pixels into more theaters over the coming weeks. This flick is in high demand, and Americans will flock to it. There’s even some Titanic potential here, folks: we wouldn’t be surprised to see Pixels at the top of the box office several times throughout the rest of the calendar year.

Watch your back, Jurassic World. Look out, Avengers: Age of Ultron. There’s a new king in town, and his name is Pixels.

CORRECTION: Pixels opened in 3,723 theaters.
