The Critics Agree can exclusively report via Deadline that writer/director M. Night Shyamalan and rapper Joaquin Phoenix are currently in talks to film their long-awaited followup to 2004’s The Village. While details right now are limited, it’s presumed this final installment will pit alien bounty hunter Merrill Hess against his most ruthless adversary yet (probably a Xenomorph) as he ends his decades-long journey across Pennsylvania Dutch Country.
Shyamalan is allegedly hoping for a November 2015 start date, which gives us plenty of time to update our acting resumes and headshots. If you’re reading this Mr. Shyamalan, no role is too small! And we both have excellent range. John’s Seinfeld impression is spot-on.
