The numbers agree: ’tis the season for Christmas cheer, but you wouldn’t know it from the box office totals.
Sure-to-be Christmas classic Krampus only managed a second place finish over the weekend. It pulled in $16 million, which couldn’t topple the $18.6 million of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.
We can’t help but read this as another battle in the War on Christmas. This is a war we’re losing, folks! When an Adam Scott horror vehicle can’t crush it at the box office, it’s no wonder that we live in a world full of abortion, divorce and a lack of Jesus Christ.
We’re guessing these Christmas-hating assholes will turn out in droves for The Big Short next weekend. The only thing Americans hate more than Christmas is capitalism, apparently.
